Yummmmmmm

Inappropriate razzing

Since Kellyn is now 6 months old she gets to eat real food, well kind of. She gets to eat rice cereal. I'm sure it tastes like nothing. Originally, I was going to wait until she went for her 6 month well baby check, which was today, to give her cereal but I changed my mind. I had been reading and came to the conclusion that I was depriving her of nutrients that she desperately needed in order to survive. Yes, I understand that this is not the case, but I went a head and fed it to her. This was on Sunday. She actually ate it. She made a horrible face, but ate it. I have continued to give her the cereal and she is eating more of it and it's now become a thicker consistency. Being that Kellyn is 6 months she is constantly learning new "skills". She has become an expect razzer (raspberrys). She makes her razzing sound all the time, but never when she was eating. That changed on Tuesday. When I got home from work Ryan and I fed her cereal. It ended with me having cereal all over. In my hair, on my face- everywhere! She thought it was absolutely hilarious to take a bite and then razz with the cereal in her mouth. It did not help that Ryan was cracking up with her. Which in tern encouraged her to keep doing it. After being covered in cereal I decided to just feed her a bottle. She then razzed into her bottle. Blowing bubbles into her bottle rather than eat. She also thought this was hilarious. Luckily this hasn't happened again. Although I didn't enjoy being covered in formula smelling rice cereal it was a very humorous moment that I LOVED!

6 Months!

Kellyn is 6 months today. She is growing like a weed! I think her eating has improved over the last couple of months. She has been eating closer to 26 oz a day which is close to what she should be eating. She is finally getting teeth. Her bottom left front tooth has broke through and you can see the top of the tooth. I noticed yesterday that her bottom right front tooth is also starting to break through. She has been taking getting teeth well. She hasn't been fussy or staying up all night long. She did have a low grade fever, but that is all! She has also developed a whine. It sounds like a baby kitten whining. If she wants something or wants to do something else rather than crying she whines. It is pretty funny. I will try and get it on video so you can all hear it. Still no crawling, but she is trying!

New Game

I'm sure as with most children, Kellyn has found a new game. It's called, I drop things and you pick it up for me. I thought this was maybe just her not being able to hold things for long periods of time. However, recently it appeared that she got entertainment out of dropping things and then me picking them up. She now will drop her toy and then look at me until I pick it up. Sometimes she even chuckles. I however, don't find it amusing. I suppose I should just get used to it. She is her father's child. Below are some pictures of our fun new game! :)

Ape Stance

Kellyn is still trying to very hard to sit up on her own. She is unable to get up off the floor, but if she is laying on a pillow-somewhat elevated- she is able to get up. Below are pictures of this event...

Hi to the blogger world

And she's up

Falling a little forward

She fell forward but stopped her self with her hands... hence the ape stance

And she's down!

Ryan's biggest fear is that Kellyn will want to go to KU. So, we are trying to brainwash her early! :)

Amazing child

It amazes me how much Kellyn can change or learn in a weeks time. Last week she was scooting. Now, she gets up on all fours and tries so hard to move. She also wants so badly to sit up by herself. She is unable to sit up from the floor. However, if we set her on the couch she can lean up and sit/ balance for a few seconds before she falls over. It won't be long and she will be Mobile and in to everything. I'm not sure I am ready for that. Ryan can't wait, but he isn't the one who will be chancing her around all day ever day! :) She also LOVES to stand up. She will grab my fingers and put weight on them and I will kind of pull her up so she is standing. She will sometimes move one leg in front of the other like she is walking. Maybe, she will skip crawling?? Probably not. I think because she is so small it's easier for her to do those type of things... not much weight!

Please ignore her hair. She has more bad hair days than good.

She is trying to crawl!

Her hair is getting really long. She is going to need a hair cut before long!
