Like Father like Daughter

Sometimes I think Ryan's greatest joy in life is antagonizing me. He LOVES to do things that he knows bothers me. Usually it is pretty funny. Actually, what is funny is the fact that he thinks he is so funny! I've never met anyone who laughs so much at the dumb things they do! This is actually one of the things I love most about Ryan. Things are never boring!
Well, my biggest fear is that Kellyn would "inherit" this trait from Ryan. Although, I find it funny it will be hard to punish her when she is so clever! I actually remember my brother doing things or saying things that were so clever that my mom would just laugh and say "You have to admit that is really clever!". I digress. Back to the story. Well, I think Kellyn has acquired this trait from Ryan. This morning I went to lay her down for her morning nap. I walk out of her room and a couple of seconds later I hear her play scream (see video below). So, I went back into her room and she was on her back (she sleep on her tummy). I roller her back over, left the room, and I hear the scream again. I again, go back into the room and she is laughing. I asked her if she thinks she is funny! So, this continued 4 times. On the 5th time I roller her over, but this time I stayed in the room. After a few seconds she raised her self up, looked around the room. When she didn't see me she rolled over. It was like some type of game for her. She was cracking up. Funny Funny girl!

Shots=grumpy baby!

We had Kellyn's 4 month well check this afternoon. I have to start by saying that I need to do better scheduling these things. It was right in the middle of her afternoon nap. So, she was tired. She did great throughout the entire visit. Laughed and smiled at the doctors and nurses... well except the nurse that gives the shots. I'm sure it was total coincidence but as soon as the nurse walked in that gives the shots Kellyn's pouty lip stuck out and it was on. I don't think there is anyway that she remembered her, but maybe. After she got her shots it took me a good 10 minutes to calm her down. She then preceded to cry the entire way home and has spent the rest of the evening sleeping or crying.

Ryan has bowling tonight.. how convenient! :)

Anyway, she weighs 11 lbs 13 oz's which puts her in the 10%. She is 23 1/2 inches long which is at 25% and her head is in the 20th %. My guess was right. She isn't eating enough. The doctor says she needs to be eating at least 25 ounces but it should be more around 28 oz. She is eating about 18 on a normal day. It looks like I am going to be force feeding her until she starts eating more! If I can't get her to eat more during the day I will have to wake her up in the middle of the night and feed her. That is something I don't want to do because I also enjoy the little bit of sleep that I get!

The doctor told me we could use a bigger nipple, change the bottle or change the formula. She is still gaining weight and is pretty consistent on her growth curve so it isn't that big of a deal, but the main concern is that she has been eating the same amount for a couple of months now. Still no cereal or food until she is 6 months old. I think that is all for now!

I hope you all watched K-State beat Texas last night! Kellyn enjoyed the game... Ryan would yell at the TV and then Kellyn would yell or scream. Needless to say everyone in our house was happy about the win.

I can't walk!

We will start this blog with my working out progress. I have been working out 5-6 times per week. Which I think it pretty good. One of my friends told me about this workout DVD called 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels (trainer from the biggest loser). Supposedly you can lose up to 20 lbs in 30 days. I don't need to lose 20 lbs. I would look sickly. I read a lot of reviews on weight loss web sits and most people said they didn't lose 20 lbs, but they lost quite a few inches from their lips, thighs and waist. The deal with the video is that you have to do it 30 days in a row and every 10 days go up to the next level. It is only 20 minutes. 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes cardio, and 1 minute abs. this is repeated for 20 minutes with a 2 minute cool down.
Sounds easy enough right? Well, I was skeptical, but it was only $12.00 at target so I thought I would try it out.
Well, I have done it for 3 days in a row and I can barley walk. I am not kidding. I don't think I have EVER been this sore. Lifting Kellyn is somewhat of a challenge and she weighs nothing. According to Jillian Michaels you have to fight through the pain in order for it to work. She also says that after 5 days the soreness goes away. I hope so! I will keep you updated on my progress. I also plan on continuing to run 4 times per week and do this video every day for 30 days!

Ok, on to Kellyn-
She is 4 months today! She is growing so fast... well kind of. She is still really small. We go to the doctor on Thursday. I have this fear that I am going to get into trouble because she isn't gaining enough weight. I don't think she is eating enough. Most babies who are 4 months should be eating more than 3 ounces every 3 hours. I read that babies should be eating 2.5 times their weight in ounces. If Kellyn weights 10 lbs (probably more than that) she should be eating 25 ounces per 24 hours. I know for a fact she doesn't eat that much! She sleeps for 12 hours at night. I kept track yesterday and she only ate 17 ounces.
Other than that general concern she is doing amazing. She sleeps 10-12 hours at night. Ever since she found her thumb things have been awesome! She doesn't want to be rocked to sleep. I lay her down, she sucks her thumb and goes to sleep. She is also freakishly strong. She likes to stand up. She also thinks she is pretty funny. I will put her in the exersaucer while I am doing dishes or cooking dinner. If I am not fully paying attention to her she will scream (like she is in pain) and when I look at her or ask her if she's ok she will crack up laughing. She will do this over and over again. Funny, funny girl.
Here are some pictures.

Thank you "aunt" Kendall. I love my Bumbo seat! :)

Play Time!- Post from Kellyn.

These are in reverse order. I hate how blogger puts the last picture first. I don't have time to fix it. So start at the bottom and work your way up! :)

This post is from Kellyn. She said Goo gah lala hi and I interpreted.

Nap time.

So excited!

Yes, I have to stand on books because my feet don't reach the bottom. My dad tells me I am part of the lolly pop guild.

What is that thing?

Thank you Kendall, Charlene and Amanda. I love playing in the exersaucer!
