Update

Sunday night Kellyn was laying on her stomach and she rolled over. Her face was priceless! She looked like she was thinking..."What in the hell just happened" and her arms and legs were spread out like "tada!". It was Hilarius! I laughed pretty hard. Ryan was sleeping and I went in a woke him up because I was excited and he said..."yeah." and went back to sleep. So I celebrated by myself! :)
She is smiling a lot more... but not at me. She smiles and giggles when she is staring at the wall or looking into space. Sometimes she will look at me and smile, but I don't think it's real. She is also able to sit up (when propped up) and look around. She is a strong little girl. She also has become very needy. She loves to be held all the time. She will sit in her bouncy chair or lay on her entertainment mat for 10 minutes and then she is over it and wants to be held. I went into work for 3 hours on Sunday and when I got home Ryan said, " I can't do anything. She wants to be held all the time." I said.. welcome to my world. :)

I know I have said it before but I think she is going to be a hyperactive child. She moves from one end of the crib to the other during the night. The other night I laid her on the right end of the crib, when I went in to get her she was on the left side facing the other direction. she desperately wants to be Mobile. When she is laying on her belly she moves her legs like she is crawling and gets frustrated when she doesn't move. I'm going to have my hands full when she becomes Mobile.

The baby has a cold

This is day 3 of Kellyn's cold. I noticed on Monday that she was sneezing more than normal and she was also coughing. When She got up at 4 to eat and her nose was running. I am paranoid and have been taking her temperature compulsively (in her ear) but she doesn't have a temp :). I called her doctor yesterday and she told me to suck out her snot, have her sleep with a humidifier, watch for a temp, and make sure she is eating and having wet diapers. She HATES having her snot sucked out... I can't image it feeling too fabulous. Snot sucking and the humidifier must have worked, because she seems better today!

She is also sleeping like a rockstar. The last 3 nights she has ate at 10:30, went to sleep by 11:30, slept until 4, went right to sleep after eating until 8. So really she is only waking up once during the night!! I hope it lasts. She only fought sleep when Ryan was here... so I blame him :)

I NEED to workout. Not just because I want to lose my pregnancy flub-which I do, but because I deal with stress and anxiety one of two ways... exercise or food. The food thing is VERY unhealthy and I would prefer to exercise. However, it isn't something that I can do with Ryan being gone. I can't go to the gym for an hour and leave Kellyn at home :). I have a jogging stroller, but it has been too cold and windy to take her out. Times like this I wish we lived closer to family. I am hoping Ryan will be done working in Nebraska by the time I go back to work (highly unlikely). So, who ever I con into watching Kellyn while I am working will have to watch her a little longer in the evening so I can workout after work... otherwise I might go crazy!

Sleep Child!!

I love sleep. I NEED sleep. Why do I have a child who fights sleep so badly?!? Last night she fought sleep until 3 am. She would fall asleep for maybe 5 minutes then start crying. There was nothing wrong with her, she just didn't want to sleep. Or she will sleep until her pacifier falls out of her mouth then she wakes up. Like right now... it looks like she is sleeping, but she is still sucking on the pacifier and if it falls out she will cry. Last night I was wondering if I could invent something to put on her head to hold the pacifier in :). That or tape it to her face! It is crazy the things you think of to keep a baby to sleep when you are exhausted.

Her new "thing" is wanting to sleep on her tummy. I read that she might have some sort of acid reflux problem and that is why she is more comfortable on her tummy. Finally at 3 am I put her on her tummy and let her sleep that way for about 30 minutes then went and flipped her over and she slept until 6. She sleeps so good on her tummy. The other night I accidentally fell asleep before I could flip her back over and she slept for 4 and a half hours. I woke up in a fright, went and flipped her over and she slept for 10 minutes before she woke up. Talk about frustrating! I read about some tricks to try and will try them tonight. Hopefully they work!

Ryan got home last night. He got to experience her sleep fighting. I think he feels sorry for me. He asked.. is she always like this?!? She has been like this for about 3 days. I am hoping she is just going through a growth spurt and it will go away-soon I hope.
Got to go. The pacifier came out.. Fussy, fussy, fussy!!

She's a month old!

Kellyn was a month old on Sunday. It is crazy how fast a month went. I remember our second day being home from the hospital sitting in the chair crying for no reason telling Ryan I felt horrible because I couldn't wait for her to be month old so things would be easier. Well, it's been a month.. I'm not sure if things are easier or I am just more adjusted. Kellyn had her one month well check yesterday. She weights 8 lbs! That is almost 2 and a half pounds more than she weighed when we came home from the hospital. She was 18 inches when she was born and now she is 20 and 3/4. She's a growing! :) She is 20% in her height, 30% in her weight and 25% in her head circumference.

She is sleeping better (most nights). Some nights are awesome and she will sleep for 4 hours before wanting to eat. Those nights I feed her at 11, go to bed, feed her at 3, and get up at 7. I can handle that schedule. unfortunately she isn't really on that schedule. Other nights she will wake up to eat every 3 hours like clock work. It still isn't too bad. She seems to get better each night (unless she is gassy).

Ryan is gone an extra day this week since he came home early last week so we could go to his parents surprise birthday party. He left on Sunday and won't be home until late Saturday night. For the first time in a while we don't have anything going on this weekend. So it should be a nice low key weekend.

I am getting Kellyn's one month pictures taken on Friday (so, she will be a month and a week old... but no one will know!). I will post more pictures of her later. She is sleeping so I need to take advantage and be productive.

First week alone

This is the first week of Ryan being in Nebraska. I am doing good, but I am in need of a nap!! Kellyn didn't sleep well last night, but she did the night before. I wish I could figure out what I do when she sleeps well. Who knows, I think her stomach hurt last night... she was super fussy. She didn't sleep until 4:30 and we had an appointment at 8:30 this morning. So I got in about two hours of sleep last night. For the first time I was super frustrated with her. I had to lay her down and let her cry so I could go to another room and calm myself.

We had a busy weekend with a lot of family time and this weekend is going to be the same way. Kellyn is usually fussy at night when we travel. I think she gets over stimulated and is passed around all day long. So, good thing Ryan will be home to get up with her :).

I think she is going through a growth spurt because the little piglet is eating a ton and every 1.5 to 2 hrs. I am interested to see how much she weights when we go for her month appointment on Monday. Gotta go... someone is hungry!

Bright eyed little girl

She enjoys her play mat.

She is starting to figure out her hands

She is a VERY alert little girl. She loves bright colors and lights. She also likes to watch football. ryan is happy about that one! :)
