Milestones

Ryan and I were talking last night and we find it amazing how fast Kellyn learns how to do things. It seems like over night she figures out new skills and then perfects them. Recently she has started sitting up herself. She can't sit up on her own, but once we sit her down she stays there. Now she can lean over and pick up toys without falling over. She also can stop herself from falling forward or backward.
She is also soooo close to crawling and sitting up from the floor. If she could just figure out her arms she would have it! However, personally I am not ready for her to start crawling. I haven't baby proofed. I also like that I can sit her somewhere and she stays while I clean up or what-not. I'm not sure I'm ready to be chasing her around. Especially because she has Ryan's personality. So I'm sure she will be a cleaver little thing. I envision her crawling and stopping and when I get to her and pick her up she will take off again. :)
Above are some pictures of Kellyn sitting up. Notice her hair. I find it hilarious!

Feeding adventure

Feeding Kellyn every day is an adventure. She is becoming such a character. For whatever reason she thinks she needs to suck her thumb after ever bite. This of course makes her hands covered in cereal, peas, or green beans (whatever she is eating) and she ALWAYS either rubs her eyes or nose. So food normally ends up on her forehead, hair, in between all of her fingers and all over her high chair.
She still continues to razz while eating and her newest "skill" which is when she scrunches up her nose and breathes in and out of her nose fast. It is hilarious, but sometimes she sucks food up her nose. oops!

If you click on this picture you can see her two bottom teeth. Also look closely to see the food on her forehead.

Look at that bib. Covered in Peas!

Yummmmmmm

Inappropriate razzing

Since Kellyn is now 6 months old she gets to eat real food, well kind of. She gets to eat rice cereal. I'm sure it tastes like nothing. Originally, I was going to wait until she went for her 6 month well baby check, which was today, to give her cereal but I changed my mind. I had been reading and came to the conclusion that I was depriving her of nutrients that she desperately needed in order to survive. Yes, I understand that this is not the case, but I went a head and fed it to her. This was on Sunday. She actually ate it. She made a horrible face, but ate it. I have continued to give her the cereal and she is eating more of it and it's now become a thicker consistency. Being that Kellyn is 6 months she is constantly learning new "skills". She has become an expect razzer (raspberrys). She makes her razzing sound all the time, but never when she was eating. That changed on Tuesday. When I got home from work Ryan and I fed her cereal. It ended with me having cereal all over. In my hair, on my face- everywhere! She thought it was absolutely hilarious to take a bite and then razz with the cereal in her mouth. It did not help that Ryan was cracking up with her. Which in tern encouraged her to keep doing it. After being covered in cereal I decided to just feed her a bottle. She then razzed into her bottle. Blowing bubbles into her bottle rather than eat. She also thought this was hilarious. Luckily this hasn't happened again. Although I didn't enjoy being covered in formula smelling rice cereal it was a very humorous moment that I LOVED!

As Promised

Below are a couple videos of Kellyn whining. Enjoy! This is all we hear these days. I hope she finds a new sound soon! :)
