kellyn is ridiculously cute- as you can see- and she is also ridiculously ornery. Last week she turned 18 months old. A-Year-And-A-Half! Since she is a year and a half she is a "big girl". She is so very determined in her ways. She has mastered the word no, but she doesn't just say no. She says noooooooooha in a very high pitched exaggerated way. She defiantly knows what she wants. She has also learned to climb. She can climb on our furniture, our kitchen chairs and any other thing she can find. This wouldn't be an issue if she didn't love to jump on and off everything! While playing outside Kellyn loves to take rocks and throw them into the grass. She will spend forever throwing the rocks in the grass then picking them up out of the grass.

Just to give you an indication of Kellyn's Ornery ways... This picture is of her feet at the end of the slide. She walks through a mud puddle on purpose! She saw it and took off running and before I could catch her she was covered in mud.

She is a funny girl!

just an update

We were so lucky to have some awesome days a couple weekends ago. I'm still pretending that it didn't snow last weekend (ugh). Since it was so incredible outside we spent most of one Sunday afternoon outside. Last summer Kellyn loved to swing at the park, but she couldn't walk so taking her outside was a pretty simple easy outing. Now, things are different. My next post will discuss all of her ornery ways, but now when we go outside I am spent blocking her from the road. Probably because I told her that she can't go into the road she now has a strong desire to go into the road. She is her father's child! So, most of the time outside is spent chasing her or blocking her from the road. For Christmas my dad got Kellyn this little Radio Flyer trike. Kellyn is a midget and can't reach the peddles. I was hopping by now she would be able to reach them, but she doesn't have a helmet yeat anyway so it's probably for the best. We let her sit on the bike and pushed her around. She was in heaven!
She just learned how to go down slides on her own. She was incredibly excited the only problem is that she flies right off the slide.... oops.
She quickly figured out that she can go faster down the slide if she pushed off the bar.
My mom found one of my old purses from high school. She gave it to Kellyn and now Kellyn gets her bag, puts her arm up to keep the bag on her shoulder, goes to the door and says bye-bye. It's adorable. She also put my purse on her shoulder and says "I mama! I mama!.

He's home

Sorry for my lack of blogging as of late. I know that Kellyn has devoted followers and I have been letting everyone down. :) Things have been crazy but are finally starting to settle down. Ryan got home a couple weeks ago. Needless to say Kellyn was very excited when he got home and wouldn't let him out of her sight for the next two days.

Lookie what we got

Before Ryan left we had been talking about potty training Kellyn. However, with him gone that is an adventure that I'm not going to embark on but, I did decide to go ahead and buy the little potty for her to just sit on so she could get used to the "feeling". She is very excited about her new "seat". As you can see it has a flusher and on the other side I can pull out that purple thing and it can hold her TP. The most exciting part is that it plays encouraging music when she goes potty. Tonight she just tried to stand on the potty, but sat there for a good 5 seconds when I sat her on the potty (5 seconds is good for the busy girl).

She loves her potty so much that when I told her we needed to get out of the bathroom she picked up the potty and tried to take it with her. Needless to say she was sad when I told her the potty had to stay in the bathroom.

All about poop.

Kellyn is advanced in her vocabulary and because of this she is learning and repeating everything, or at least attempting. Her new favorite word is poop... yes, poop.
Below is a conversation Kellyn and I have 100 times a day.

Kellyn: Dada home?
Me: No, Dada's at work.
Kellyn: Poop.

Kellyn: Kitty?
Me: No, the Kitty is at Grandma's house.
Kellyn: Poop.

Every time I tell her no she says "poop". I can't lie it's pretty funny.

On a not so funny note. As most of you know Ryan is out of town. This is the third week he is gone and HOPEFULLY he will be back in two weeks. Kellyn is having a hard time understanding why her dada doesn't come home or isn't home when she wakes up in the morning. We have been skyping a couple times a week, but she is only interested for about 2 minutes. Last night she picked up my phone, put it to her ear and said " Hi, Dada. Home."

Bebe

Kellyn's recent obsession, as I would call it, is her bebe's (babies). She can't go ANYWHERE without her babies and if we happen to forget her bebe she screams bebe forever. Along those same lines she will not sleep with her bebe and not just one bebe, but four. She rocks, feeds, and burps her babies. It is cute to see her imaginary play.
