First day of Preschool
This morning she did not want to go to school unless I was going to stay with her. I finally distracted her enough with her cool new book bag that she HAD to have. I tried to get her to get a hello kitty bag, or a princess bag, but nope. Cars it is. Below is a picture of her bag.
She finally got excited for school as he were leaving and arriving at the school. When we walked into the school she looked at Ryan and said "this is my school! Do you like it?". We put her bag in her locker and she walked right up to her teacher (whom she had never met) and said "Hi Miss Dana, I'm Kellyn". She then went into her class without telling us bye or anything.
I knew if we went into her class to tell her bye that she would not want us to leave and would cry so I told Ryan that we needed to leave before she sees us. He did not want to leave. I literally had to force him to leave. Then, as we were walking out the door we heard a little girl crying. It sounded like it may have been Kellyn. Ryan had a look a pure sadness and a need to go in and rescue her. I told him that it may not be her and that we needed to leave- she will be fine.
While waiting to pick her up the Director came up to me and was talking about how Kellyn is so 'out going' We all know that this could be a good or a bad statement. She went on to tell me that she was talking to Kellyn while she was working on a project and Kellyn bluntly told her that she was in her way. She was laughing, but hopefully this isn't the first of many 'talks' we have with her teachers about he attitude.
When she came out of her class she was excited to see me and seemed unharmed-emotionally and physically. I was asking if she made friends, who she sat by, what kind of snack she had and so on and she kept answering all my questions with 'no'. Then she finally said, "I'm tired and do not want to talk to you about school". So unfortunately, I have no other details about her first day of school.

POTS
My very good friend, Rebecca, was diagnosed with POTS disease last year. She is hilarious and her stories about her hundreds of test of procedures are fall over, cry, and pee your pants funny. She has started a blog to chronicle her experience. I encourage everyone to jump over to http://fabulouswithpots.blogspot.com/ and learn about POTS and read her story.

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead
They have a old one room school house. They have actual lessons every few hours. We did not participate, but Kellyn enjoyed reading an old book.
Kellyn mined for Rocks. We now have a bag of minerals that I'm sure will be found randomly throughout my house.
You are suppose to be three to ride the Pony, but she is practically three and really wanted to ride the pony. She did really well.
She fed the ducks and geese- this was her favorite thing to do.
She attempted to bottle feed a goat. However, the goat attacked her and one goat was trying to eat her shirt. So I had to hold her and feed the goat while trying to stop the other seven goats from jumping on me! It was crazy.
Overall, it was a fun day!

Kellyn has recently become obsessed with having a sister (wonder who put that thought into her head...grandmas?). She is not getting a sister at this point in her life so apparently she made up a sister. She told Nicole that she is going to have a sister. This is obviously far from the truth and when asked why she was telling people things that aren't true she responded with... "mommy, that's the way the cookie crumbles." Upon further questioning I found that her sister is in her belly and that she does not want to come out because she does not want to get all "yucky".
Kellyn also does not want to be called Kellyn most days. She prefers to be called, ice cream vanilla, batman, and spider-man. I suppose it is good to have an imagination, but it's difficult when she won't respond unless she is addressed correctly, but it's also hard when she will not tell you what to call her.
She is also recently obsessed with having a colored tongue. She chooses food and beverages that will make her tongue a different color not by taste.
Can you believe that she will be 3 in a little over a month?!?
