First time on Our Little Shrimp!

After many head aches, illegal activity, and inspections we finally got our house! We spent the entire weekend picking paint colors, making plans and just sitting in the large open space. We took Kellyn's pack and play so she could nap. She loved roaming around and playing. Below are some pictures of the outside of the house. I have inside pictures but I will post them with before and after pictures.
We have work to do on the outside of the house. It needs yard work (all the water runs to the house rather than away), a new deck/patio, paint, and just general cleaning up. Once we get the inside painted and moved in we will work on the outside.

Ryan's "man cave" It is in the back yard.

The back deck. I hate it. It will be a patio with stamped concrete (it pays to live with someone who does concrete construction for a living!)

The front of the house. I cut off the side b/c I would have had to stand in yard across the street to fit it all in the picture.

We have a screened in patio. I hate it also, but I seem to be the only one. Maybe after a little TLC I will like it.

Karma?

For anyone who has ever spent a significant about of time with Kellyn know that she is a talker. She is constantly screaming saying baba, papa, mama, bobo, gaga, and many other words in Japanese? I know in many other posts I have compared Kellyn's ornery personality with Ryans. I'm sure you noticed, but the above named list of words didn't include dada. This drives Ryan crazy. He spends most nights trying to coerce her to say dada or anything that sounds similar. Ryan gets enjoyment out of doing things on purpose that annoy people (me). With that being said and with Kellyn having a very similar personality (help me now) my theory is that Kellyn knows have desperately Ryan wants her to say dada so, to annoy him, she isn't saying it.
Ryan: Kellyn say dada
Kellyn: papa?

I of course laugh hysterically!

Even though Kellyn won't say dada she obviously loves being with Ryan. She also loves having my cell phone and talking on that phone. Last night Ryan was on his phone and she needed to have his phone. After grabbing the phone and hanging up on whoever he was talking to I gave her my phone. So, she talked on my phone while he talked on his. Cute.

As a disclaimer. If you ever call me and it answers and you hear Kellyn talking away (Sorry uncle Richie) just call back! :)

First trip to the pool

Well, our first trip to the pool didn't work out as well as we had envisioned. We probably should have planned it better. Kellyn needed to take a nap, but was being difficult, so we thought we would just take her to the pool and she could nap when we get home. We sat her in the water and this happened.....

So, this is how she spent her time at the pool.

We were both shocked by this! Kellyn LOVES taking baths and will play in the water for a long time. When she hears the bath water she takes off to the bathroom. We will try again next weekend, but first pool attempt = fail.

Why sleep when you can climb??

C
We finally lowered her bed. Obviously it didn't help the situation much! At least, now she can't fall out. She has mastered her skill of climbing and pulling her self up. She climbs on anything and everything. Our coffee table has two levels. she climes on the bottom level and then falls off. it is pretty hilarious. Also, whenever she hits her head she doesn't cry but she turns and looks at whatever she hit her head on with a dirty look. "How dare you hit me in the head!"

Not ready for this

Start at the bottom and work your way up. It won't let me copy my text to above the pictures and I don't have time to retype it. Just trying to keep you all on your toes! Don't want you to get bored with my blog :)

Standing

Her pulling herself up

For a while now I have been thinking that Kellyn is going to skip crawling. She does her creative scoot/army crawl when she wants to get around. Lately she has been getting up on all fores, hands and feet. She will do that and just hold it for a few seconds. She just seems uninterested in crawling. Last week I went into her room after fighting with her to go to sleep. When I went in, she had pulled herself up by her bumper and was on her knees holding on to her crib looking around. REALLY?!? She has done this numerous times since then. We have to lower her crib asap.

This morning I was checking my work email and Kellyn was curious about what I was doing. She can't get to where I am due to the barricade. So I guess she found another way to see what I was doing. Hence the pictures. She climbed up the pillow and pulled herself up on the coffee table and just stood there. I am not ready for her to be pulling up on things! I want her crawl so I can mentally prepare myself for her walking around :)

Pictures

This weekend my step brother Preston graduated from high school. Luckily it didn't rain on Sunday. We had a lot of family in town and got together for great food and company. Below are a few pictures

First picture of all three of us

Mother, Kellyn, and I

Seriously, I think I have one other Picture of Kellyn and I, but I will never show it to anyone. It was post Kellyn and I looked not to great! :)

Mother, Kevin, Kellyn and Kalen. Kalen is only 1 month older than Kellyn, but is huge compared to her.
