Cousin love

                                    It's hard to believe that Kalen is only a month older than Kellyn.

Where does she learn this stuff??

We are trying to teach Kellyn about boundaries so if a door is shut, that means she does not go into that room. Last week, Ryan was using the restroom and Kellyn came into the bathroom. And apparently this conversation went down....

Kellyn: Get out of the bathroom.
Ryan: I'm trying. shut the door, please.
Kellyn: (shutting the door)
Ryan: Thank you.
Kellyn (opening the door and pointing her finger) Do not say that!
Ryan: Kellyn, we say thank you. It's nice.
Kellyn: Do not say thank you. I will smash you!
Ryan: (withholding laughter) Kellyn that is not nice. Please shut the door.
Kellyn: (shutting the door)
Ryan: Thank you.
Kellyn: (opening the door so only her face is barley showing. Whispers) I will smash you! (slams the door)


So, you best watch out. Kellyn will smash you!

Sea Life

A couple weeks ago we took Kellyn to the KC Sea Life Aquarium. It took us an entire 40 minutes to go through the entire aquarium and Kellyn seemed to enjoy the jungle gym at the end of the aquarium more than the actual aquarium.

After the aquarium we went to Fritz's to eat lunch. The train brings your lunch.... so it's a pretty big deal to a two year old!

 The Easter Bunny thought it would be a good idea to get Kellyn a little make-up set. I'm not sure what the Easter Bunny was thinking,  but after having the make-up for a short amount of time Kellyn decided to add some art to her bedroom wall.

I knew it was simply a matter of time before she colored on the wall and luckily it was with lip stick and came off easily. How do you get made when she is so excited to show you the picture of Kellyn, Mommy, and Daddy that she colored?!?

Easter Eggs

I had decided to not have Kellyn dye Easter eggs this year. I was worried about the mess and my inability to control her egg dying skills. The Friday evening before Easter I read this article about raising independent self-confident children and one of the tasks was to allow your children to be creative and make messes. This is challenging, but I decided that I should let her have the full Easter experience.

She actually did very well dying the eggs. There was a little mess, but nothing that couldn't be cleaned. I got her an egg dying kit with glitter and she thought that was the coolest thing ever!

She made she pretty awesome eggs- way better than Ryan and I's.
