Poindexter is a girl!

It's official, Poindexter is a girl. We had the sonogram this morning. There were no signs of male body parts. She is developing normally and everything looked perfect. However, she appears to be a very active stubborn child already :). She was moving all over the place and it was hard for the doctor to see what she was looking for. Then, when she wanted a profile picture of Poindexter she had her hand on her forehead and would NOT move it. The doctor was pushing on my stomach to try and get to her move her hand, but all she would do was kick her feet. She never moved her hand. Looks like she is hard headed already....

For the last two months I have had a difficult time sleeping. I can't get comfortable, I am hot or I am cold. So, when my mom told me she had ordered me a pregnancy pillow I was pretty stoked! She gave me the pillow on Easter and the last two nights I have slept incredibly!! I am in LOVE with the pillow and I plan on sleeping with it for the rest of my life. Ryan is also happy with the pillow. According to him I am a blanket stealer and a bed hogger ( I have no idea what he is talking about), so needless to say he is happy with the pillow because when he woke up on Monday morning all the blankets were not moved and I was on my side of the bed.
So, Thanks momma for the pillow!! :)

Docta Docta

We went to the doctor a few days ago. I warned Ryan before we went that my Doctor is a little strange. I am not sure strange is the word to use... maybe socially awkward is more appropriate. Like always I got weighed (I absolutely hate that part), had to pee in a cup, had my blood pressure taken and we listened to the heart beat.
It was funny because she started listening to the heart beat and as she pushed on my stomach Poindexter kicked and it was an obvious kick. I am hoping that he/she is like me and was sleeping and was kicking for her to leave him/her alone (I know wishful thinking!) Anyway, Poindexter's heart beat was 150. At the last appointment it was 170, so I was surprised it had gone down so much, but she assured us that his/her heart beat should be about 140-150.
Ok, so back to my doctor being awkward. At every appointment she asks if I have any questions. Normally I don't have any questions and when I do ask questions they are odd... like can I sleep on my stomach and can I eat hot dogs. So when I don't have questions she feels like she needs to fill the time telling me the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER again! So, I think next time I am going to go in with a lot of really random questions to fill the time! :)

We find out on April 23rd if Poindexter is a boy or a girl! In the mean time take the pole... boy or girl?!?

Hello All-

Welcome to the fabulous blog devoted to all things baby Shrimp! This is an easy way for everyone to stay in the loop about the pregnancy and beyond.
Just a little update:
This week is 16 weeks. Things are going pretty well other than the constant headache and sneezing. We go to the doctor tomorrow. I think Ryan is pretty excited about this visit since he missed the last one. At my last doctors appointment i got to hear the heart beat and I think Ryan was a little jealous that he didn't get to hear it. We will also find out when we will be able to see if poindexter is a boy or a girl. :)
Speaking of poindexter, for those of you who don't know.... we are calling the baby poindexter until we decide on a name. We don't like calling he/she it or baby. So, poindexter it is :)
