Happy 5 months Kellyn!

Kelly is 5 months old today! Crazy how time flies. As of today she can...

  • Roll from her back to her tummy, but she hasn't figured out how to roll back over.
  • She can get up on all 4's, but is unable to stay for a long period of time
  • She has mastered scooting! She can even scoot backwards.
  • She can say all of her vowels and gibbers and jabbers all the time.
  • She can grab objects and put them in her mouth.
  • She is almost ready to start eating "people food" She watches Ryan and I very intently when we are eating or drinking. Also, she just started mimicking us by chewing.
  • She figured out how to play with the toys on her excersauser. One day Ryan would show her how to play with it, then take her hand and do it and then she would do it by herself.
  • Her feet FINALLY reach the bottom of the exersaucer!! :)

"That's my girl"- Ryan.

Last night Ryan couldn't wait for me to get home.... As soon as I walked in the door the following conversation went down.

Ryan: You're home! Guess what Kellyn did?
Me: No idea.
Ryan: I was holding her and we were talking and then she ripped one.
Me: And you're impressed by this??
Ryan: It was the loudest longest fart I have heard. Then, I started laughing and then she started laughing and she continued to fart as she laughed.
Me: Are you impressed?
Ryan: I was so proud.

Other than Ryan being proud of Kellyn's flatulence our household is full of sick germs. We all have pretty bad colds. With that being said Kellyn has to get her snot sucked numerous times throughout the day. As soon as she sees the sucker she starts crying. She also hasn't been sleeping well because she can't breathe out of her nose, so she can't suck her thumb. She isn't sleeping well which means I am not sleeping well. Sometimes I was wish I was like Ryan and could sleep right through her crying. I'm going to make him get up with her tonight if she doesn't sleep well. I need some rest or I will never get better!!
Kellyn is 5 months tomorrow (Crazy!). I will post an update tomorrow. I have to get Kellyn ready to go to Grammies house so I can go to work.

Sick Baby

Kellyn is sick. She has been vomiting all morning. She didn't have a temperature, but I just checked her temp and she now has a temp of 100 degrees. I will keep an eye on it. If it gets much higher I will have to take her to the ER. I also have to make sure she has wet diapers. I don't want her to get dehydrated. I should have known she was getting sick. Last night she was super fussy and just wanted to be held. This isn't like her. She usually doesn't like to be held. I took a picture of her laying on Ryan's chest. It is precious.
So let's hope she gets better. She is napping now. I'm going to wake her up in a little bit and try to make her eat.
I've got to go disinfect. I want whatever she has to go away!

Like Father like Daughter

Sometimes I think Ryan's greatest joy in life is antagonizing me. He LOVES to do things that he knows bothers me. Usually it is pretty funny. Actually, what is funny is the fact that he thinks he is so funny! I've never met anyone who laughs so much at the dumb things they do! This is actually one of the things I love most about Ryan. Things are never boring!
Well, my biggest fear is that Kellyn would "inherit" this trait from Ryan. Although, I find it funny it will be hard to punish her when she is so clever! I actually remember my brother doing things or saying things that were so clever that my mom would just laugh and say "You have to admit that is really clever!". I digress. Back to the story. Well, I think Kellyn has acquired this trait from Ryan. This morning I went to lay her down for her morning nap. I walk out of her room and a couple of seconds later I hear her play scream (see video below). So, I went back into her room and she was on her back (she sleep on her tummy). I roller her back over, left the room, and I hear the scream again. I again, go back into the room and she is laughing. I asked her if she thinks she is funny! So, this continued 4 times. On the 5th time I roller her over, but this time I stayed in the room. After a few seconds she raised her self up, looked around the room. When she didn't see me she rolled over. It was like some type of game for her. She was cracking up. Funny Funny girl!
