Never in a million years

I have never thought I would be so excited about poop. Did she poo? How much? How color was it? This has been mine and Ryan's topic of conversation reciently. When we left the hospital she hadn't pooed in over 24 hours so we were needing her to poop! Well she finally pooed after we had been home a couple of hours! We were so proud. Really? I am excited about poop? Oh, how things change!
We have been home since Monday afternoon. It has had its ups and downs. Breastfeeding is a challenge. I have an appointment with the lactation people at the hospital today. Guys, you may want to skip this section. At the hospital she would breastfeed ok sometimes and other times it was horrible! After we got home I had problems with her, she wanted fed and wanted fed now and it is almost like she doesn't want to have to "work" for her milk. I was getting so frustrated, then she had two really good feedings. So, I was hopeful that I could do this! Monday night or Tuesday morning the feedings didn't go well at all. She was fighting and not laching on right. Now, my nipples are cracked and bleed. So, I have been pumping since then. It works so much better and she took so well to the bottle. I haven't decided if this is the way I am going to go, but right now it seems like the best option! I don't want to breastfeed her because I am afriad of infection since they are cracked. I figure as long as she is getting the breastmilk it really shouldn't matter where it comes from. Maybe they will be able to help me when I go in today.
Well I need to go pump so I she can eat in about an hour. Have a good day. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Congratulations! What a beauty! Hope your appt with the lactation consultant goes well. I honestly thought nursing was something that would be easy, but it definitely takes some work.
