Baby Room

We have been working on the baby room for a little while now and it is almost complete! Here are some pictures!

There circles are above the dresser/changing table. I took embroidering circles and painted them black and put in fabric and hung them up. A very inexpensive wall decor!

There is a little bit of a glare on this one, but it says sweet dreams and has a mood, clounds and stars!

We looked forever for something to put above the crib. I didn't want anything heavy just incase it fell. I found these wall decals online for only $15.00. They are stickers that look like they are painted on and don't mess up the wall! Great buy.

This is our crib and the bedding.

Baby Showers

I have never been big on baby shower games.. I just like the cake! :) I have a few showers coming up and while I was browsing a DIY website (see post below) I stumbled across this list of baby shower games. Some of them sounded enjoyable and I wouldn't mind having some of them at my baby shower (hint, hint aunt Sandy, Mallory and Holly:):)) Let me know if they sound fun or lame.

Guess Mom's Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite.

How Many Baby Items Can You Name: (Materials- pad of paper and pen for each woman). Have each woman write down as many baby products as they can name (bottle, blanket, pacifier, etc) within 5 minutes. Sure it is easy at the beginning, but towards the last few minutes, the women will start racking their brains for more :) Give a prize to the woman who gets the most baby products named!

Motherly Advise: Each guest is given an index card when they arrive and asked to write a question a new mother would ask (e.g. How can I stop my baby from waking every 2 hours?) Then during the baby shower party, pass all the cards out face down. The guests write the answer to their question on the back of the different card. Then read the non-matching questions and answers for some strange tips. Decorate onesies- Provide a table to decorate onesies for the baby. Have supplies like iron on designs, markers, paints, and decorative items for guests to use. You can tie dye some onesies or provide onesies in different sizes and colors to make it with

Baby room blues

One of my life goals is to be crafty. I envy those people who are artistic and creative naturally. I have tried to be crafty in the past with a few successes but mostly failures. For the last couple of weeks I have been looking for baby room decor. I have a vision in my head.. but I can't seem to find exactly what I want or when I do find the perfect piece of art it costs WAY to much. so needless to say I have become very frustrated. I feel like such a slacker. We have a baby room with a dresser that needs to be painted, an empty book shelf and a crib and mattress with no bedding :( why? Because I can't find reasonably priced baby decorations. I have decided to stop being anxious and frustrated and do something about it! I have been searching DIY websites for ideas on inexpensive ways to make baby decorations. I finally think I found what I am looking for. a huge sigh of relief! I am going to start working on these projects soon.. maybe even tomorrow!!
I am sure I will have to redo many of these projects until they look acceptable. Stay tuned for picture of the final project!

Forgot!

The brand name for the giraffes that I want is Cuddlekins by wild republic. There are not any stores that I know of in my area that carry them, so I will probably have to order them online. Any help with finding these little guys would be greatly appreciated!! :)

On the hunt

I am on the hunt for these cute giraffes. I seem to only be able to find one that is 28''. I want a small, medium and large. If anyone knows where I can find these that would be fabulous!

My ever growing baby bump

Have you ever been walking and people look at you and know they are wondering if you are pregnant or fat? This has been happening daily for the last couple of weeks at work. I haven't told my clients that I am pregnant and they appear to be afraid to ask me. I wonder how much longer I can go. I am almost 26 weeks pregnant and no one has asked me if I am pregnant.

Check out the pole to the right. The fate of Kendall touching my belly is in your hands. Don't take this responisbility lightly!!

Crib!

We finally bought things for poindextress! On Saturday I went shopping in the legends area and they were having a HUGE sale on baby clothes. So I couldn't resist. I bought a few cute outfits. Then, on Sunday Ryan and I went to get a crib and a mattress. Above is the picture of the crib we picked out. We were not able to get the crib that day so we still have an empty room, but we get the crib in a couple of weeks and I get to start decorating!

We are staying away from pink in her room. We are going with neutral colors... brown, green, yellow. Above is also a picture of the bed set we are going to get. I am excited to start decorating. I feel so unprepared!

Poindextress is a moving machine! Last night I was laying on the couch and my stomach looked as though it was possessed. She was kicking and moving so hard that my stomach was moving all over the place. I get kicked in the ribs and then the bladder all within a few seconds. I have a feeling that she might be a hyperactive child.
