I had my first baby shower a couple of weeks ago with my lovely friends and old co-workers from the Copper Oven in Topeka. It was great to see everyone and catch up! The funniest event that took place was with Barb and myself. (Barb is an AMAZING lady. I beleive she is almost 80, but she is full of energy and spunk! I loved working at the oven and all my co-workers were great (for the most part :)) but it was so nice to work with Barb. She is like every one's Grandma.)
So, Holly Decided to have Barb and I drink from a baby bottle and see who could drink the most in a minute. Needless to say it was hysterical watching Barb. Also, in case any of you were wondering it takes 11 copper oven stickers to get around by belly. Micaela was right on, everyone else was WAY off. It was a great time. Thanks Holly and Micaela for planning and throwing me my first baby shower! :)
I have another Baby shower this weekend with my Friends. I am really looking forward to it for many reasons, but the main reason is because my baby shower will be held at the Budweiser plant in Osage! :) Katie's dad works there and they have nice conference rooms, but it is just funny telling people that.
My last baby shower will be the first weekend in September. That one is with Mine and Ryan's family. I am looking forward to getting to see all of my family together!
Nothing really has changed over the last couple of weeks. My hands are swollen, I am not able to wear my rings anymore. My ankles have also been swelling, but mainly when I am in the heat or if I have been standing a lot that day. I am still uncomfortable, but I don't think that is going to be changing anytime soon. She is very active all day every day, especially at night. Some nights she rolls from the right side to the left, from the left to the right, over and over again. Maybe she can't get comfortable either, who knows! :)
We have birthing class in a couple of weeks, pre-registration in less than two weeks, and parenting classes starting in September. It is getting close. I am soooo ready to be done being pregnant, but scared to death to have a child. I have to keep reminding myself to breathe :)

Funny
This is the story of my life these days! I just hope my child doesn't look like the one pictured above!! :) :) Hope you all are having a good week!
Pain is the name of the game... or so I am told.
This week has not been a good week for me! Ms. Poindextress is obviously running out of room. How do I know this you may ask. Well, I think her feet have taken home in my rib cage. It is very painful and uncomfortable. Due to this I am also having a hard time breathing. I walk up stairs at work and I feel like I just ran 5 miles! It is kind of embarrassing. To top it off I am having round ligament pain. I wasn't sure what was happening so I called the doctor. I got all checked out and it is round ligament pain. For you lucky folks who never experienced round ligament pain, it feels like I am being stabbed when I make any sudden movements. One last thing, I don't think I have slept more than 3 hours a night for the last two weeks. Oh the joy of being pregnant!! 8 weeks left. The count down has begun. :)

Baby Room
There circles are above the dresser/changing table. I took embroidering circles and painted them black and put in fabric and hung them up. A very inexpensive wall decor!

Baby Showers
I have never been big on baby shower games.. I just like the cake! :) I have a few showers coming up and while I was browsing a DIY website (see post below) I stumbled across this list of baby shower games. Some of them sounded enjoyable and I wouldn't mind having some of them at my baby shower (hint, hint aunt Sandy, Mallory and Holly:):)) Let me know if they sound fun or lame.
Guess Mom's Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite.
How Many Baby Items Can You Name: (Materials- pad of paper and pen for each woman). Have each woman write down as many baby products as they can name (bottle, blanket, pacifier, etc) within 5 minutes. Sure it is easy at the beginning, but towards the last few minutes, the women will start racking their brains for more :) Give a prize to the woman who gets the most baby products named!
Motherly Advise: Each guest is given an index card when they arrive and asked to write a question a new mother would ask (e.g. How can I stop my baby from waking every 2 hours?) Then during the baby shower party, pass all the cards out face down. The guests write the answer to their question on the back of the different card. Then read the non-matching questions and answers for some strange tips. Decorate onesies- Provide a table to decorate onesies for the baby. Have supplies like iron on designs, markers, paints, and decorative items for guests to use. You can tie dye some onesies or provide onesies in different sizes and colors to make it with

Baby room blues
One of my life goals is to be crafty. I envy those people who are artistic and creative naturally. I have tried to be crafty in the past with a few successes but mostly failures. For the last couple of weeks I have been looking for baby room decor. I have a vision in my head.. but I can't seem to find exactly what I want or when I do find the perfect piece of art it costs WAY to much. so needless to say I have become very frustrated. I feel like such a slacker. We have a baby room with a dresser that needs to be painted, an empty book shelf and a crib and mattress with no bedding :( why? Because I can't find reasonably priced baby decorations. I have decided to stop being anxious and frustrated and do something about it! I have been searching DIY websites for ideas on inexpensive ways to make baby decorations. I finally think I found what I am looking for. a huge sigh of relief! I am going to start working on these projects soon.. maybe even tomorrow!!
I am sure I will have to redo many of these projects until they look acceptable. Stay tuned for picture of the final project!

Forgot!
The brand name for the giraffes that I want is Cuddlekins by wild republic. There are not any stores that I know of in my area that carry them, so I will probably have to order them online. Any help with finding these little guys would be greatly appreciated!! :)
